Sorry Ray but I can't answer this for you. I know what's been happening as I've been here a while but I see it flushing itself down the toilet. Wish I could tell you what I know but it wouldn't help ! It's a shame really as I put my heart and soul into this site, only to see it crushed.
I haven't been on this site as long as you have ... But I would hazzard a guess that anonymous moderators who aren't active in the community may be the final nail in the coffin of a dieing site :)
It's impossible for relative newcomers like myself to answer this question. Certainly recent events indicate that the site is HKV infected.
HKV is unique among malware in that it is a human condition that is able to find its way into a system through the dirty fingernails of a site's administrative staff, and then eats away at the membership until they sicken and leave. It is almost always fatal and only surgery to remove the offending administrator/s offers even a faint hope of recovery.
It is the Harakiri Virus.
When you have people that don't really care about something, in this case, we all know what that is, that lack is noticeable by the people that actually give a crap.
We had a buffer where two people stood between us and the 'other ones'. Those two have had enough and took a different road. Now we have people that have put anonymous folks to be a buffer.
It's to their detriment that they remain anonymous. But I can see that it makes no difference to the higher ups. We shall see what happens next.
But I bet we can all guess.
