More often than not people respond to us as we treat them. If we're mean to people they're going to be mean back. Ditto friendly.
Of course, there are always those kind souls who are friendly no matter what, and there are always nasty people who take pleasure in being mean.
I think there are more nice people. However I think their niceness is often overlooked. I also think there are probably a lot of indifferent people. They get caught up in their own lives and they just aren't paying attention to what is going on around them. They are neither mean nor nice.
