Hard to imagine many people willing to be committed to a psychiatric facility. If the patient is potentially dangerous to themselves or others, it should be a done deal whether they approve or not. I think that is actually the case.
Should a person have a official say before being committed to a Psychiatric facility on a full time basis?

My mother was committed
She had a stamp
Sane........
She had no say
From the outside looking in
The crazy dose not know
They are nutty
So the answer is no .,
Anyone that is being committed full time rarely has the mental capability to be making such decisions.
