(Not me, but my brother.) We went out for ice cream, and people were talking about tooth sensitivity. A friend couldn't bite ice cream. My brother popped off with, "My mom can. She has false teeth!"
As a child, did you ever do something innocently that embarrassed the heck out of someone with you?
I was about 10 and we were on a camping trip with about 20 family members. We kids were playing flashlight tag or something and we got called to the table for desert. I just wanted to keep playing and went to the table and shoved an entire piece of chocolate cake in my mouth and ran back out to the field. My mom was mortified.
My big brother had stickers with swear words all over his door. At this point, I was around 4 or 5 and just learning how to read. I thought that I would practice my reading by sounding out the words on his door. They were tore down within a millisecond, which happened so suddenly made me think that I had done something wrong. I started crying because I was embarrassed and my brother thought I was crying because he wouldn't let me read cuss words.
I also had a habit of repeating things that adults didn't want me to repeat. Not bad things necessarily, but if for example my mother was complaining about my aunt I would go off and tell my aunt what my mom said. I wasn't trying to start any trouble or hurt anyone's feelings, I just thought they ought to know considering it's about them.
Dumb things I totally feel embarrassed about it than anybody else and still feel kinda humiliated whenever I think of it.
I don't remember exactly how old I was but I could read a little. My mom and I were in a supermarket at the checkout when she remembered she forgot to get paper napkins. She asked me if I knew where they were. I said yes and I was off in a flash. When I returned with the big purple box that had the word napkins on it all the ladies blushed and my mom gasped. It was a box of "femine napkins".
