Product design and industrial design are the terms often used interchangeably, and rightfully so. These two terms are so similar that product designing can be an integral part of industrial design.
However, the key difference between industrial and product designing lies in the intent.

Product designing can be used by anyone to bring their ideas into reality, whereas industrial design focuses on designing a product which can be converted into a commodity to be sold.

For example, A fashion designer uses the product design to create a new concept in clothing and accessories. Whereas Engineers provide Industrial product design service to design a product which can be sold into the market.

I hope this information helps.
