Honestly I think you should do whatever you feel like doing when it comes to your body.
HOWEVER, you should try and talk it out with them, just so that they know what's going on. But be direct and don't let them sway you into changing your mind.
I would keep an eye out. That sounds like straight out flirting, and if its a new relationship and he's already looking around elsewhere I'm pretty sure you guys won't last. Sorry
