Absolutely not, that's not what schools are for. What a fascist proposition. You might want to read up on the Fourth Amendment.

What would be the good of seeking to push more students to the outside of the educational process and possibly into the justice system? Lawsuits would be legion, and everyone loses.

I pity the administrators at the first school system to mandate this.

No. All students do not need to be tested. If there is a cause for concern, maybe. If they are in extracurricular activities and there is a cause for concern then definitely.

School staff yes, kids No!  Can you even imagine doing drug tests in the hundreds on students.  Then what do you do if and when they fail? Drug testing when you are looking for a broad spectrum type test are very expensive.  Factor in bath salts and synthetic compounds the costs go through the roof!  I'd rather see the money spent for drug education for students, not testing the whole student body! Don't get me wrong, I am pro drug testing, but for those that warrant such tests, by employment position, or criminal acts.  My wife teaches school and drives bus, and as such is subject to random drug testing.  When the drug testing issue arose in  law enforcement one of my staff suggested we offer drug testing to our employees.  I told then it would be on a volunteer basis, and I cautioned my commanders not to suggest that the staff go or not go!  I was pleasantly suprised that all 200 under my command showed up to be tested!  Everyone of them were clean and clear!

No, but more education on the impacts of drugs from a younger age.  We didn't learn about drugs in Health until grade 9 (most of us were 13-14), when there were already kids in our grade using explicit drugs.

Definitely not important. If anything schools should prioritize helping kids that are in situations where they think using addictive drugs is a good idea
