If there had been no reason to drop an atomic bomb, do you think a reason would of been created anyway to see its affect?

They already knew the effect of an atomic bomb, as they had tested it in July of 1945.  The allies knew the effect, that is why they used it.

Yep. The quest for power is in our nature. Our culture was built on conflict, the victors gain the spoils, control the people and write the history.

Thank you TheZ. So if no one joined up who do you think would be used as cannon fodder? It reminds me of No Mans Land when the soldiers had a game of football. I think as you say most decent folk just want to get along.

You're welcome, Mary.

I don't believe that cannon fodder is ever given much choice in the matter. : /

I wish we could honestly say our world was only populated by decent folk. I enjoyed our chat.

Well, mount Everest was there, the atomic bomb had to be created. Since there are no ethical rules governing science, other than "lets see if we can do it." I think it's a dangerous place to be, especially when it involves substances that can wipe out millions of people, and cause years of abnormal births, and pain.
