Have you noticed an invasion of caterpillars ( also known as army worms and tent caterpillars) in your area?

I have them around here but it doesn't seem like there is more than usual. They mostly make their tents on the wild cherry trees here. Those little buggers left their tents and have been making their coccoons around my garage door openings.

No, it's been quite a while since I've seen a caterpillar of any kind.  (I always liked the furry ones as a child.)  I don't believe I've ever seen the tent building variety.

It's supposed to be a higher than usual outbreak of them. Some areas are infestated with them already....shoveling them off their house foundations.

No signs of them in my area yet.

Yuk... Harmless as they are to people ...I hate it when I find one in my hair.
