Because some people are just jerks. There isn't anything anyone is going to do that is going to change that. All you can do is control your reaction to those people. You can stoop to their level or you can rise above it. The choice is yours.

Unfortunately, some people can't feel better about themselves unless they're putting down others. Others discriminate  because of race, religion and financial status. We all breathe the same air, need food, shelter and love. People really aren't as different as the labels we give them.
