I kind of wonder about this myself. We have a great community here. It's not completely free of arguments but it is incredible! Best of luck to you, my friend!!

I think it's because it's just not that well known to people is all. But more people are finding it and enjoying it. Plus, I've been trying to get more people to ask questions also, so there are more to answer. I've been here a while and I've watched it grow a lot.

I'm not sure how long the site is active but i would be totally agree with you, this site is great in so many aspects, & so many great people are here & the connection is admirable. Also I assume the rate of activity been good on the site but for being so "popular" well if I realized it correctly, Blurtit created by individuals. If it be truth, so that would be the main reason why the site couldn't be so popular through, cause when the site's creators be individuals, that means they have a lower business power, financial support & at the end a low rate of the "Ad" in comparison of a company with a certain brand. The design & ability of the site is great in so many perspectives but some elements are crucial automatically to make a site popular worldwide.

However since few sites been shut down lately, the focus on Blurtit increased amazingly & i assume that would help to create such atmosphere of trend joining & more people get familiar with the site & join all along.

Hardly any marketing for the site. I hope they keep it that way. There is a thin line between community and commercial.
