There are a lot of good anime out there but if I had to name five then here are some recent ones that I've watched:

2. Ouran High School Host Club (a lot of the folks answering seem to like this too!)
3. One Punch Man
4. Toradora!
5. Free! (yes, I like it, don't judge lol)
Of course, classics like Naruto and Doraemon are a given but I thought it would be nice to give some interesting answers haha! And of course, like all of the Studio Ghibli movies are great! Not sure if you consider this anime (but some people, some don't), but Avatar the Last Airbender is the bomb and Legend of Korra is really good too.
I like Patlabor, Lodoss, Shingu secret of the stellar wars, Banner of the stars, and Aura battle dunbine.
I started "OLD SCHOOL" . . . Like REALLY OLD SCHOOL.
