If it's highly personal to the point of possible embarrassment, I thin  "Anonymous" is appropriate.

Asking an HONEST question that is not embarrassing should have a very real profile attached. It lends itself to a better understanding of the Asker and how think . . It helps us to determine HOW we should frame the answer as well.

I rarely answer anonymous questions. Too many trolls hide behind anonymity.

I don't like Anonymous users questions. If I answer them at all, it's usually a short answer with little detail. There are some occasions when a regular user might want to ask an embarrassing question and want to remain anonymous though.

I do.

To me it's like legal-Illegal immigrants. Answering someone with a clear identity feels much better than someone who hide behind anonymous.

However there are conditions:

-Sometimes anonymous also ask very understandable questions which really make sense and you can feel it's a not a trolling attitude.

-Sometimes some members wants to use the community in a short term. So they prefer to stay anonymous for getting the answer they seek for.

-Sometimes someone go anonymous on purpose to not cost themselves embarrassment, judgement ect. . According to their comfort zone and how they think.

-Also there's no promise about those who become clear and out of anonymous. We've had trolls who had profile. It's not that easy to define the troll according to profile-anonymous.

But yet, my priority is like:

1.People i know in the community - regular members.

2.Others in the community

3.Anonymous

Yes, I do. If I know the user, I can give a more detailed answer. I usually won't answer anonymous questions.

Generally, yes.

Unless "anonymous" is asking for "facts," usually it's only a coincidence if the person gets advice that actually addresses their exact current situation.

In my experience, Anonymous asking for facts are usually kids who ask for strangers to do their homework for them. Stuff like that is more simple to just google.

As long as it isn't a long drawn out drama question ? I'll try to answer them if they make sense. Not high on my priority list as I want to see them sign in and become a member. But I do answer some of them but I prefer members questions.

I will answer them most of the time. However I prefer not to ask my questions anonymously because I think you get a real answer from real people when you don't post anonymously.
