Have you ever bought anything sold with a "cash back" discount? Was it easy to get your money back or did they make you work for it?

Several and they sent the money on time up to  $20.

That's probably a tribute to your winning personality, Jan. Maybe I should try to be nicer. :)

Lol thanks but I'm sure it because it was a little amount of money 💵.

Didge I have never tried to buy anything like that...I just do not go into debt, even with my very low income.

My experience with that sort of come-on would be that whether or not you got your cash easily, somewhere somehow you would lose heavily; as much as a business could legally contrive, this would be a way to separate you from as much of your money as possible.

And I truly would be delighted if this attitude proves to be overly cynical.

Oh...yes...so much of our lives can get just eaten up that way... costing people more than it is worth in time and frustration.
The company basically raising their prices by a camouflaged $300.
Well, your experience does not dilute my cynicism...

Wait...rather than raising their prices directly, here it would be more they were enticing lots and lots of people to buy from them, I think?

Probably. Retail promises are no more reliable than election promises.

My husband and I have. Some are easy and some you have to jump through a ton of hoops to do so. One my husband reported to the better business bureau and contacted the CEO of the company. You needed to send in the original receipt to receive the cash back. We sent everything in as requested and we received an email saying they received our rebate and it would take 2-3 weeks to process it. 3 weeks come and go and no rebate. We contact them to find out what was going on. They lost our paperwork. They asked us to resubmit, and when we did with a copy of the receipt they told us they couldn't process it with a copy of the receipt. It was $100 rebate on kitchen cabinets. My husband got the money but what should have took two months took closer to six.

It sounds as though you had the same trouble I had with Fujitsu. Glad you got it in the finish but it doesn't make you want to do business with that kind of company in the future.
