Do you find that Blurt is unexpectedly educational for you? I seem to learn something either newsworthy or educational (or fun) virtually every day. Here is my example, do you have something you learned recently?

It is a real treasure, and it came from Tom Jackson...it is the term "if-by-whisky," and is a kind of political doublespeak in which you soundly affirm that you are for BOTH sides of an issue...

I like to ask and get answers, but mostly I read the questions. The questions are often educational but the answers are more entertaining than educational. Er, maybe I don't read the right posts.

Time and again, Virginia.

One of the things I learned just last week was from Retired Kop who explained his interviewing technique. Take the interviewee through the scenario twice, taking careful notes. So far so good, but a competent liar can cope with that. Then take them through the incident again, starting from the end and working toward the beginning. Even experiences liars have trouble keeping the ducks in line when they have to move backwards.

I do find it to be educational, but I don't find it unexpected. I doubt I would come here if I didn't learn something.

Educational aspect is very important to you, Gator Blu, I thought it was just an added bonus, but then I noticed how really much you can learn!

I like learning about different cultures on here and even different ways of life in various parts of the U.S. I've learned a TON.

Of course. I've learned quite a few things. Mostly tid bits of information that I found interesting but also about people here. Like, don't get between Ancient Hippy and a slice of pizza. I won't make that mistake again.

Ah, how different the world would have been if we'd had the third tablet. All sorts of commands like, "Eat drink and be merry..."

Yep. Who knows what the third tablet would have said. That would make a great Blurtit question.

Educational! But not unexpectedly!!

This community is an opportunity, it gives you the chance to observe thousand of stories and experiences. Lessons for free!

It gives you this space to explore, share and communicate. It gives you this environment to let your opinion to be heard and this atmosphere to be poured by advises and life-tips when needed.

I feel so happy that i ended up interacting with amazing people in this community which many of them started with Ask.com. I have always learnt something new thanks to our wonderful community with it's unique people.

What I've enjoyed most, besides the interaction between fellow Blurters, is the ability to share our experiences in a safe environment. I've noticed that we don't have too many negative people here.  Some topics do bring emotions bubbling up to the top, however, I believe that for the most part, everyone is pretty respectful of each other. I didn't feel that way on Ask.com.

Danae, I too have noticed and appreciated that...
As someone with unusual, sometimes off-the-wall notions about life, here on Blurt I feel much freer to express those, the relative safety as you mention.
On Ask, you could really get pounced on, attacked, simply for an opinion a bit out of line.

I agree. Rooster and Angela have really set the tone for Blurtit.
