I'll give you a method that's so simple you won't believe it. Try it for a month anyway. You'll be amazed at the result.

SLOW DOWN AND TYPE WITH A RHYTHM.

I've been using keyboards of one kind and another since 1954 and that's the method that worked for me. I was trying too hard and kept finding the wrong keys. Then one of my instructors told me about the rhythm method. It may not be much of a contraceptive but it's great for learning to type.

Do it quite slowly so that each letter and each space is hit at the same speed. Do NOT let your fingers run away with you. After a month, if you practice often enough, you'll find that your speed will surprise you.

One more tip even if it sounds boring. If you sit with your back straight and your elbows a little above the keyboard so that your hands drop toward it, that will enhance your skill and, should you be spending hours working, will leave you much less tired.

And, in case you were wondering, I'm pretty fast.

Around ^&£ years ago, I had to conduct speed tests for typesetters. We had two choices of keyboard, QWERTY or Linolay (a Linotype (in the US an Intertype) keyboard.)

The Lino typesetters were around 60% faster than qwerty users, and were faster still when complicated work was necessary. They also made fewer mistakes.

Sadly, I suspect that such things now exist only in museums.

This is not an answer to the question, of course, but I thought you might all find it (a bit) interesting....

The only 'method' is practice, practice and more practice.

Youo could also go for another keyboard.  The standard Qwerty keyboard was designed to limit your speed, as the old timey typewriters (mechanical) would jam if you typed too fast.  Keyboards such as the Dvorak change the location of the  keys to make it faster to type.  And then, as Bikergirl pointed out," practice, practice and more practice.
