How can I get my parents to let me drop an elective? It makes me feel hurt when I think about it. I have been asking my parents to let me drop it but they refuse and tell me that I can't quit. It makes me cry. They don't care. Also it is optional.

You have an elective that makes your "feel" hurt. I don't know what that is. Do you mean your "feet"?

Secondly, I haven't heard a reasonable answer as to why they should let you drop this. Quit moaning and complaining about this elective. Sit down at your desk and write down why you want to drop the class, if it's too late in the semester to drop it and what class you plan on filling with its absence.

When you approach your parents as a young adult, you are more likely to receive a more positive response to your request. You might keep that in mind.

When you are in college, you can drop any course including one in your major.

What's better---stay in it and come to hate it so much you fail the course and negatively impact your GPA....OR, after realizing that for whatever reason you don't want to take it now or perhaps ever, change your mind (which you have a right to do) and withdraw?
