Dogs don't think like we do.
They don't really have a concept of "winning and losing".
To them, it's just play ... It doesn't even affect standing within the pack.

I usually just let them have it after a while. The puppy in particular is more interested in just chewing it rather than fighting for it, and I have this irrational paranoia of somehow harming his teeth
