Are all our California Blurtit friends safe from the fires? My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the State.

I am personally safe, but praying for my fellow Californians.

Obviously, I no longer live in the US, but my offices were located at Newbury Park, a suburb of Thousand Oaks (known as 1K Oaks to the locals). The Borderline bar was the nearest place to get a drink to the old Howard Johnson Motel where I often used to stay.

Back then it was a country music bar (I'm not a fan, but I could put up with the singing for a cold beer). One of my work-colleagues, a semi-professional dancer, used to dance there.

It's horrible when something like a mass shooting gets quite so close to home, and now the countryside is blazing on the mountain between there and Malibu on the coast.

All they need in So Cal right now is an earthquake (there hasn't really been one since the Northridge 'quake) to wreck everything on the run-up to Christmas.

I love California, I'd move back there tomorrow if circumstances permitted. It's sad to see what has happened.

We are safe here. I heard from Dragonfly. She is safe. We need to hear from Cameron. And KB I believe. 😓
