Yes and it drives me crazy trying to think who the heck they were.
Have you ever suffered your way through a 5+ minute conversation with someone you ran into that was excited to see you and has missed you...only to see them walk the other way and leave you wondering: "Who the hell was that?"
Yes, and trying to match the level of their elation whilst browsing the "History of people I know" is fun . . . Right?
Most times when I meet someone I will use their names MANY times in hopes that it stays with me.
Yeah. Once I was walking in the street. A young man came and said hi. He was very excited to see me. He asked about how my family was and everything. I also responded warmly but it was really awkward! The worst thing was he insisted on walking together. He asked where I was heading and he said yay that is exactly where I am going. He walked with me for at least 30 minutes and continued the awkward conversations. To this day, I have no idea who the hell was that person
When this happens to me, I politely say 'I am sooooo sorry! I am HORRIBLE with names! I don't forget faces but names.... Yah I am not good at. What was your name again?" And usually when they say their name it sparks a memory. If not then I just hold a conversation with them as I would any "stranger." You let them talk. You listen. Most people like to talk about themselves anyways. IF they happen to ask "so how is the hubby or the kids?" Then obviously we had meet before so I can respond with a simplistic "they are doing very good in school." "They are very involved with Church activities so we are busy busy busy!" Or "yep they caught a rare Pokemon." depending on how much general info I want to give. Then if all else fails, I have the honor of always falling back on.... "Well it was great talking to you but I gotta get back and start some dinner....." LOLOLOLOLOL! Only someone who REALLY knows me knows that would be a crock of pot! LOLOLOLOLOL! Just playing! :0)
No .... I have no problem saying " I'm sorry , but I don't have a freakin clue who you are"
Yes and no! If after a few minutes I haven't realized who this person is, I usually interrupt them and ask who they are!
