The biggest downside is sharing the TV remote control.

Downsides? .. There can be many if a couple is incompatible.
Having to share pizza. Not married yet but that is one thing that requires a lot of courage to do.
Giving her a additional credit card so she can buy unlimited amount of shoes.

The only think that might make the list is differing views, but that is what makes it relationship interesting, so it comes right off the list . . . Sorry I've drawn a blank.
Making the perfect sandwich and then having your wife come up and ask for the last bite.
I would suggest a prenup to deal with this issue alone---even if you agree on everything else.
On the upside, after about 30 years, you become more willing to give her that last bite; and she becomes more unlikely to ask.
I haven't found a down-side yet. Ask me when I've been married a bit longer.
