Never ever use an ampersand in place of the word "and" in normal correspondence, literature or textual information. It is a symbol, used  in math (not often) and in other abbreviated matter. Usually intelligent people are now using it in place of writing English... Horrible.

My answer is not proper or grammatically correct I am sure and I am NO English major! Lol! But I am honest...... I omit the word 'and' most of the time because I wrote too many characters and I need to reduce, condense and downsize my story or answer or text. Lol! So i guess you can say I use this '&' because I am a long winded big mouth!!!!!! Lol!

I only use it when writing about pairs of people. His & Hers, John & Mary, Mr.& Mrs.. It should never be used as a conjunction.
