I rarely " assault" my food. I'm fond of pepper, in moderation.

I use to love pepper. 😢 now I'm afraid of it....

So I moved on to garlic salt.

Yeah, it's something about certain foods you don't know what foods can do to you . I know i have certain foods that give me gas and sometimes i am bloated after eating or drinking something and i also have had several bouts of Bowel Obstruction in which the doctors have no clue to what causes it and i am afraid to get upper and lower Gi and Colonoscopy to find out what's going on. So for now i live on Miralax for this condition and it seems to let me have regular bowel movements so i don't developed something more serious.

Pepper, as I learned, is a fickle spice—it can be usedwell, but add too much, and your food tastes cheap and crass. Because pepper is applied to mask poor quality, too much of it smacks of a cover-up. ... When it's well-used, salt manages to make food taste notsalty, but more like itself

I cook with sea salt and black pepper ... Both in moderation.
