I am starting a book tonight. I received it as a parting gift from my friend who is moving away. It's called "Jesus Calling."

Thank you my friend. 🤗 I write for hours in the wee morning hours but I am being challenged to read a page a day. I think it will add to an even more deeper relationship.

"Herbs and Apples" by Helen Hooven Santmyer.  I'm not into it yet, but I loved her 1982 book, "And Ladies of the Club".  I'm hoping this one will be comparable (although written in 1925).

May I ask, what drew you back to her writing for a second book?

This is an in-depth story of college-graduate women who form a club back in the 1800's, and it covers every aspect of their lives: marriage, divorce, women's rights, secret drug addiction, frigidity, adultery, religious discrimination .... everything! It is written with honesty and compassion by an author who was born in 1895 and didn't write this extraordinary book until 1982 (less than 4 years before her death). I hated to see it end!
