We, who? The fact is, not everyone will...

On average, 6800 people awaken for the last time every day, few if any of them ever expect that their last day has come. If averages hold, this means 150,000 people alive now, 12/9, will not see the New Year. It is my sincerest hope no one close to you is among those lost.

Being at least mindful of this random mortality should inspire profound gratitude for those of us whose day hasn't come and, by grace or by chance, are granted the privilege to see the calendar turn, yet again.

Good morning, I pray, I go peacefully and quietly. That I may never be a burden to society :)

I'm hoping to go out in a big fireball, with people watching. A glorious death, but postponed indefinitely for now.

Most of us.

The world clock is ticking and there will be more people on January 1 than are alive now, but, others will have moved over to make room for them.

Didge will be one of the first ones to know if we've made it---I'm sure he'll warn us if it's not going well.

I presume that will give us a 6 hour or so head start if we have to evacuate the planet.

it is a little over 3 weeks away. I don't see any reason not to make it.
