Whenever you leave the house, they have a celebration in your honor when you get back home.

Their very loyal, helpful and caring.

Just walking in the door after a bad and being greeted by a wiggly wagging pup can change the whole day for the better.

My neighbour owned as long-haired Dachshund which stood on guard on his 2nd floor (1st floor if you're an American) patio and barked at me whenever I came into the yard.

When they went on holidays we used to look after the dog and took it for walks every night (something he had never done, but then he weighed around 320 lbs, or 23 stone).Every night when I arrived home from work Suzie (the dog, not my wife) would run to the door to greet me. It was nice.

Then, when the neighbours returned and we handed her back, she once again took up position on the patio and barked at me every time I went outdoors. She was back on duty again.,
