I sure remember what Yang bought with his first check! I could have strangled him. He bought a new car stereo, the loudest "bumpin ness" one he could find! Pfft! He still apologizes for that one! Lol!

Thank you so much my friend. It was nicknames that stuck a few years back. "Two complete opposites who when put together makes a whole." 😊 We call the other "our better half." Lol! ☺

I kind of like the idea of different personalities in a relationship. If we were too much alike it could be awfully dull.

Way back when we were not paid by check. You received a little brown envelope with your cash pay in it. I took it home and gave it to my mom who would give me my allowance for the next week. She would use some for the house and the rest she would put away for an emergency. No emergency, when I turned twenty I would receive all the saved up cash from my salary. Unfortunately over the years there were several emergencies. LOL.

I was just the opposite. I was the worst card player on the planet. But I could cut hair so the guys in the platoon all had clean cuts for inspections at 50 cents a pop.

During our induction we were told that we were not permitted to wear our hair longer than 2 inches on any part of our heads. One of the guys was a barber and he persuaded his mate to have a Mohawk haircut. Next morning he turned up on parade without a hat and everybody laughed, including the officer of the day. But he'd identified himself and from that moment on whenever they needed somebody for a nasty job the call was, "Get the Mohawk!"

Yes, oh yes. I remember how they could come up with "nasty jobs". All Armies seem to have the same issues and solutions.

I probably just blew it on something with no intrinsic value. But I remember in the first few months at work i bought a portable radio. That was in the days before transistors and it weighed in at about 20 lbs. I can still remember the look of it and the smell of it, even after 65 years.
