When I make my invisible manbun, I use a rubber band, more manly than a scrunchie.

When I put my hair in a ponytail, I use a scrunchie. When I put in on top of my head I use a clip. I never use hair spray, bobby pins, or rubber bands.

I have very thick hair, I have to use the extra thick rubber bands that have no metal. All others break.

95% of the time, I use blonde colored hair ties and bobby pins if needed. I also have barrettes and clips I use from time to time.  I also use the small clear rubber bands for smaller braids. It all depends on what I am going for. I only use hairspray for special occasions. I learned many years ago it attracts bees.

A scrunchie for pony tail.  And a clip for balled up on top.

My hair is extremely short since I cut it off. Usually if I ever "put it up" it's just pinning it back with a couple bobby pins lol.

But when I actually had really long hair, I'd use a couple hair ties since my hair is so thick.

Hair band. My hair is thick and long though so it's a relief to take it out.  I may put it up more when I'm in need of an instant face lift.

I put it in a pony tail, twist the 'tail' around my thumb and then use a hair clip to keep it in place
