Personally, inside matters to me.
An ugly inside destroys any outsider beauty.
In quote of a comedian Russel Peters.
"My ex wife is a beautiful woman . . . .on the outside, My ex wife is like a Ferrari with no engine, ;omg is that a Ferrari? It doesn't work. It doesn't work. Just sits there and cost me money"
Beauty better come from within..... Or else I better invest in some paper bags! LOLOLOLOL!
i would say so ive spoken to many so called beutiful women and the moment some of them speak its like watching something from one of stephen kings novels spawn to life for me its whats on the inside that's what makes all the diffrence theres no use having a goddess around who you cant have a conversation with
I believe there are many forms of beauty. There is the kind that is skin deep, but that is superficial and usually doesn't last.
Then there is that which comes from within. The person who touches your soul with their kindness. Or someone who can walk with grace and purpose through the most chaotic situations.
I think inner and outer beauty translate into each other. If a person has physical beauty, it changes the way I think of their personality, as well as the other way around.
Dear Dozy,
If you would not mind, I will go off on a tangent here...a bit non sequitur... as you know I have loved ALL the religions and atheism (secular humanism) too...well here is a saying from Islam, about Mohammad whom I love:
"And the Prophet loved perfumes, and beautiful women, and the shining of eyes in prayer."

And to give just a nod to your Q, I will choose THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.

Within, you can get someone that looks great and have no warmth or depth to them. It is the latter that keeps us interested.
However, if the person lacks the looks, then if you stick around long enough, then you may see the beauty within, and it outshines the outsides and keeps us transfixed.
