Why is it men sometimes have such a hard time listening? I told my husband to stay on the trail and not cut through the woods because he will get ticks. Dang if I didn't just pull 5 of those nasty thing off him.

I think men and women clearly see things differently. While you saw the potential for ticks, he saw the potential for fun. You warn him ahead of time cuz you KNOW it will be you pulling the little blood suckers out and he thinks it "can't happen to him." You are his help mate. You complete him. Let's be honest here, without you he would be lost. (Or he would have gotten lost on the hiking trail! Lol!) So that's what we do.... We foresee, warn, they do and we pull the ticks out. The good news is, is that we are wired differently. While you leave the car on empty he sees it as cute and takes the opportunity to be your prince and fill it up for you. (Little things like that.) You lay down a part of your life for him everyday and he literally would lay down his life for you. Your husband is an honorable man. I know he would take a bullet for you. So pull out a few ticks. I am thankful you are not pulling out bullets. We are made to be different and that is a good thing.

(Just looking through a different view. I am not minimizing your feelings one bit my friend. It is frustrating but..... We love em! Lol!) 😉

It's tough to direct a man towards the sensible route when the thrill of adventure sets in. Or at least when he has found a shortcut.  :)  Make sure you and your hubby spray yourselves with a repellent containing DEET.

I had Deep Woods Off on, he forgot. He was looking for a shortcut and ended taking a longer route. I was back at our site and had the camper unlocked before he got there.

As has been pointed out, of all the possible consequences of blazing a trail through the woods---avoiding ticks (or snakes, or other things that also never bother us little boys) is way (way, way) down on our lists of priorities.

(Next time, after finding the ticks, check for a frog in his pocket.)

And call him ________________ Pathfinder for a few days.  (Insert his first name on the line.)
