Are you like me ? When doing laundry, I want to get in and out as fast as possible. Not a place / room that I like to linger in.

It might be worthwhile to make your laundry area more comfortable, since you have to be there anyway. Might add value to your home.

MM- that’s a nice touch to a basement laundry room. Ever have clothes get hung up in there?

Our laundry is in a room upstairs at the end of a hall from the bedrooms. We have a futon and a table in there

No Z, We've never had clothes get hung up in the laundry chute.

My kid had that happen at a frat in college. They walled off the chutes thereafter.

My laundry room is just a small hallway between the garage and living room, so there isn't any room to linger. The new house has a bigger room with counter for folding clothes. I will have no problem standing there folding or hanging clothes. I have never had a problem in any house I have lived in with staying in the laundry and doing what I need to do.

I have been to a laundromat where I sat out in my car with the doors locked waiting for the machine to finish up.

When I was living in So Cal. There were several communal laundry rooms. They  were really the only places where I got to meet my neighbours. (And even then, they weren't necessarily very talkative).

I should probably linger around a little more often. Lol! My mind can never stay focused on that task for long.

Our laundry room is in the basement. Mrs. MM does the majority of the laundry but I help when needed. Since she has neck problems, I carry the clean clothes basket upstairs when they are finished. I spend time in there cleaning the dryer vent and maintaining the water purification system. It's not one of my favorite places in the house to hang out.

It's not a problem for me.  My washer & dryer are in my garage.  No need to babysit the laundry after transferring it to the appropriate machine.  (I owned two laundromats years ago, and I hated it!)

Most of our laundry is done in the garage, just off the kitchen.  When I have to go to the laundromat for the really big stuff my washer/dryer can;t handle, it isn't a problem.  While the local laundromat is not a place I would care to spend all day in, it is fine for washing clothes.  I take a book and read while stuff is processing.
