Stuffing.  It's also called filling around this area.

According to most dictionaries, stuffing is defined as “a mixture used to stuff another food, traditionally poultry, before cooking.” Whereas dressing is cooked in a pan outside of the turkey cavity.

Personally, I call it dressing.  My mother always cooked that stuff inside the turkey, and I think she called it stuffing.

I used to do the same about 30 years ago when I cooked turkey or chicken, but then I started calling it dressing when we started using Stove Top most of the time---probably because---given my preference for using accurate words---it was no longer "stuffed" into anything.

But Stove Top does label it as "stuffing mix."

(And I wasn't aware of the dictionary definitions until I googled the issue tonight.)

I call it stuffing no matter how you make it. And as long as it isn't made from cornbread, I call it delicious.
