At the age of 15, I ran a mile in under 5 minutes. I got a mention in school assembly for that. No-one else cared.

I grew up basically being the only girl in my neighborhood, at least around my age. I learned how to hold my own not to take crap from boys.  This was good training for when I became older and still didn't take crap from men even if I had a job in a male dominated field.

50 mile bike ride for charity.

Beating out every girl in my grade in arm wrestling. I went on to represent our grade(5) at field day. I lost. I was heartbroken, because I lost in front of my dad who'd taken the day off of work.

The very worse! You couldn't imagine it, if you tried. I was raised in an orphanage.

Depends on what you think abuse is. What life was like in the 50's , would never be allowed now.
