I remember being a kid and spending the entire day out playing with friends, in the woods, or riding bikes, and no one was going crazy you weren't home . . . You could hear your mom call for you across the neighborhood, and the street lights coming on, meant it's time to come home, or call you mom to ask to sleep over . . .

There was a local company that supplied various items sold at local drug stores.

I pulled stock from the warehouse shelves to send to the individual stores.

They are not totally gone, but are few and far between, drive-in movies. $1 carload night was the best!

I read of one a couple of months ago that had RV campsites on the back row. I thought that was a cool idea.

My grandmother had a party line. She kept it because it was less expensive and it essentially became a private line because all her neighbors signed up for the private lines. The thing was you had to use a rotary phone on the party line.

Eventually the phone company got rid of party lines.

I remember DOS and using Juno through dial-up internet. God forbid we used it when our parents were waiting for a phone call.

I did my first college term paper on dial-up. As slow as it was, it was still better then trying to go the library. Especially when working full time.
