I chose my name because of where I live, my lifestyle, my love of the outdoors, my respect for nature and my dislike for the feeling of being crowded.

That is why I named my son "Connor" . . from "Highlander" . . .
Also why I might change mind to Jack Burton . . .

Mine is from when I opened my AOL email account in the late 1990s. I kept trying to get something University of Florida related and it was the only one I could come up with that hadn't already been taken. Plus my car is that color, also known as royal blue.

Tris Fray Potter Profile

I chose names from my 3 favourite books at the time; Tris (Divergent) Fray (The Mortal Instruments) Potter (Harry Potter).

I don't like Divergent anymore, I'm getting bored of The Mortal Instruments, but I still love Harry Potter.  It's just too much trouble to change it, and I can't think up a better name.

Tim O'Shea, the founder and owner, was on the site, as was John Swindells, the designer and web developer for the site. Both still used their real names. :)

Actually, at the time it was written, Blurtit was pretty much the only site that enforced the rule.

Back in the early days of internet, I posted a lot on a science fiction board.  The custom there was to pick a username related to SF.  Hence the name, a minor character who appeared in several works by my favorite SF author.
