Scotland, my fathers favorite country. He had been all over the world during WWII and more so for business in his older years. Scotland always held a special place in his heart and he went at least twice a year. He told me so much about Scotland that it eventually became MY favorite.

Romania holds a special place in my heart. It's where a number of my relatives are from. I've been there several times, including to visit family who lives there. I think it's a beautiful country that a lot of people don't know much about.

Good choice, Cameron. You're right -- too many of us don't know much about Romania. It's a country steeped in mystery.

Italy. Been there many times and have seen most of the country. It wAs the homeland of my late stepfather, Vittorio, who taught us Italian and imbued my siblings and I with the magnificence of its culture.

Like Hippy, I have to go with Scotland. My grandmother was of Scottish decent, though generations lived in Canada. After my dad did some genealogy research, he learned he is actually 75% of Scottish decent. My great-grandmother's maiden name was Urquhart. That is name of the castle that is in ruins along Loch Ness. It is on my bucket list to go over and see it firsthand.

Loch Ness looks beautiful. I've never been there but my son was there a few years ago. Loved the photographs. He didn't see Nessie, though.

I would vote for Norway. I've never been there, but my dad's side of the family emigrated from there. My aunts and uncles found the old family home with cousins from the way-back still living there.

I've known a couple of Norwegians., Resourceful people. That would have been a treat finding relatives living in the old home.

Yes I agree. The folks living there in the old homestead were distant cousins.

I would like to see Finland. My maiden name comes from there! Lol! In other words it's part of my history on my dad's side. 😊

We almost made it to Finland. I competed in the World Veteran Games in Melbourne in 1987 and in 1991 they were to be held in Helsinki. We planned to make the trip but during that time I killed my knees and couldn't go. Pity. I wanted to try their snowberry wine.

I still love the US, I had the best time of my life in So Cal. But India and Finland (an odd pair) also call to me rather a lot.

Yes, they're a very unusual group, but you've travelled so much I wouldn't have expected an ordinary choice from you.

Hi Didge! It will have to be the United Kingdom and that’s mainly because I studied and lived in London for a pretty long time. I simply appreciate the welcome and opportunities that were presented to me! I will definitely be going back as there are several places that I couldn’t find time to visit!
